Los Angeles, CA, October 7, 2016 (Newswire.com) - “10 años con Bebe”, is not only an intimate, deep portrait of one of the most talented and unique artists in the Spanish and Latino culture of these times, but also a powerful, unique music documentary that has not gone unnoticed and earned an important nomination for the Latin Grammy in the category of Best Long Form Music Video.
The film, by director and screenwriter Hernán Zin, addresses Bebe’s moments of success as well as failure and public controversy. Two years of shooting the film in a dozen countries were necessary to bring “10 años con Bebe” to life. A unique music documentary that marks a before and after in Spain, given its massive amount of archival material, the access to Bebe’s private life and the use of music to support a story, something not very common in Spain.
The documentary made its debut at the Malaga Festival and has been produced by Hernán Zin himself, Olmo Figueredo, Sara Santaella, Nerio Gutiérrez and Germán Gutiérrez. It goes from the first steps of this artist from Valencia, just by herself with her guitar, to the creation of authentic anthems, like “Ella”, “Malo”, “Siempre me quedará”, and then the dazzling success, later the public controversy and finally Bebe’s rebirth.
Hernán Zin, a director who has been nominated to the Goya Award 2015 and the José María Forqué Award 2016 for his documentary “Nacido en Gaza”, who has accumulated over twenty years of productions, is proud of the result of this powerful 80-minute film: “I usually don’t work along these lines. However, I think the result is human and inspiring, which is why I’m so proud of this documentary.”
Several musicians and renowned actors also participate in “10 años con Bebe,” such as Ricardo Darín, Rossy de Palma, Julio Medem, Carlos Jean, Diana Palazón, Macaco, David Summers, Oscar Jaenada, Leonor Watling, Andrés Calamaro, Pablo Alborán and Julieta Venegas (among others).
