"101 Things I Hate About Social Media" E-book Launched

Will Biscan is a pseudonym for a disenchanted person working in social media. He's had enough, and decided to write his first E-book about the things in the industry he can't stand.

This E-book from Will Biscan goes into full detail about the things that piss him off. Having worked in social media for a few years, Biscan has quietly made a list of the things that upset him in the industry: The annoyances. The double standards. The innocuous things that people complain about incessantly.

It also gives his views on the social media industry, and the negative trends plaguing the space.

The E-book can be purchased at this link: http://bit.ly/willbiscan

Commenting on the launch of the book, Biscan said: "Social media is really bollocks, isn't it?"

Three excerpts of "101 Things I Hate About Social Media" follow:

Hashtags That Spell Something Out
Somewhere along the way, it became fashionable to add an additional comment under your breath after making a statement, such as "My hands are so cold," followed by "shitty gloves." On Twitter, this has become "My hands are so cold #shittygloves." This is ridiculous and stupid. Hashtags are there to be searched. They are there to collate tweets about a specific topic or event. They're not there to be a punch line to your mundane tweet.

The Whole Idea of LinkedIn
LinkedIn as a social network works fine and does what it claims to. My gripe is with the need for a social network for jobs in the first place. Since when do people make their work information and previous experience public. And why do people think that will make them more employable? And what's the deal with making employer recommendations public? Does everyone really need to see those? And why do people who write those things sound like corporate morons? Has anyone ever used the term "skill set" in anything other than a LinkedIn recommendation? It's a massive social network of bullshit.

QR Codes
They've been around for long enough, so it's not unfair for me to say that they're a waste of time, and need to go away forever. People have lives to lead; no one wants to stand around scanning shit.
