50 States Half Marathon Club member, Aiden Jaquez, of Montgomery, Illinois, has become the youngest ever to finish the 50 States Half Marathon Challenge™ at age 11 years old.
MONTGOMERY, Ill., October 22, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Aiden Jaquez, of Montgomery, Illinois, was just seven years old when he joined 50 States Half Marathon Club in 2015. Aiden completed his first half marathon at age 6 in Sarasota, Florida. At first, Aiden and his grandmother’s goal was to finish the 50 States Half Marathon Challenge™ (an official 13.1 mile half marathon in each of the 50 states in the USA). Soon after, Aiden and his grandmother Kathleen Taylor picked up velocity, with a new ambition for Aiden to set the world record as the youngest ever to finish the 50 States Half Marathon Challenge™, the official club challenge of Fifty States Half Marathon Club LLC.
The big day for Aiden Jaquez and his grandmother was upon them. The two kicked off their travel to Iowa, along with a caravan of relatives, and close to 100 Fifty States Half Marathon Club members attending the Des Moines Marathon & Half Marathon event weekend from across the USA and Canada. On Sunday Oct. 20, 2019, Aiden and Kathleen headed to the start line of the Des Moines half marathon, and were cheered on by family, 50 States Half Marathon Club members, Des Moines Marathon & Half Marathon race staff, and strangers in the crowd, as they cruised along the course, and crossed the finish line to victory. Aiden Jaquez has become the youngest ever to finish the 50 States Half Marathon Challenge™, at age 11 years old.
Fifty States Half Marathon Club LLC was founded by Nicole Blomgren in 2008, and has grown to over 1600 members across the USA and Canada.
