The entire Maya in the Middle book series is authored and illustrated by a 13- year old middle-schooler who has faced and conquered similar challenges.
About the Author
Atlanta native, Imani Alsobrook, has been passionate about writing and drawing since she could hold a pencil/crayon. She is an artsy and extraordinarily creative 13-year old, soon-to-be 8th grader. In addition to creating awesome books like Maya in the Middle, Imani owns her own clothing company – Peachie Pi. She’s an A-student who loves hanging out with her friends and “sort of” enjoys being an older sister to Madison (age 8) and Dylan (age 6).
Imani wrote and illustrated Book #1 of Maya in the Middle at age 12 and she is currently working around the clock to finish Book #2 in the series. She plans to release it in the Fall of 2015.
