14.2% Increase in Local Business Advertising Indicates Rapid Economic Expansion in Winnebago, IL

14.2% increase in local business advertising shows growth, Winnebago's Director of Regional Planning and Economic Development discusses recent developments.

American Marketing & Publishing LLC reported today that the Winnebago, Wisconsin economy shows signs of recovery as evidenced by substantial growth in local advertising by businesses serving Winnebago. The 2011 edition of the Winnebago HomePages® Directory features 154 local businesses advertisements, a 14.2% increase over the prior edition.

The US Postal Service is distributing 4,700 copies of the 2011 Winnebago HomePages® Directory to every Winnebago family, business, and post office box holder. The Winnebago HomePages® are a printed community directory including residential and business white pages, a community information section, and a categorized local business Yellow Pages. Local information is also published online at http://CloseBy.com, an Internet Yellow Pages that submits business information to Google. The 14.2% growth in local business advertising shows evidence of renewed enthusiasm toward the local economy.

"It's very encouraging to see this level of economic optimism in Winnebago. Family owned businesses are the backbone of the country, and they do not spend money on advertising unless they are leaning forward." said Abe Andrzejewski, CEO of American Marketing & Publishing, LLC.

Sue Mroz, , was very pleased with the ongoing economic resurgence: "We've had a lot of expansion recently. There were several companies sitting on fence with expansion. Several of them have now moved forward with substantial expansions caused by more investment and the hiring of new employees by Winnebago. We're always working on attracting new companies, and there's currently a large effort to bring the next Embry Riddle Aeronautical University campus to Winnebago. We are very excited to be one of the final two candidates being considered for this new campus."

Neal Polachek, President of BIA/Kelsey, a local media consulting and advisory service says, "Local and community Yellow Pages such as HomePages Directories have long been barometers of the local economy. Many small businesses are often among the more sophisticated advertisers and as such, they generally have their thumb on the pulse of the economy and they tend to know what advertising works. It is very encouraging to see this type of growth in Winnebago in an otherwise subdued advertising market."
