2011 Face to Face Makeup Competition

Online, June 19, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Makeup Artists are often thought of as background workers, never being able to show their full potential. As their title indicates these men and women are artists who utilize makeup as a medium and faces as their canvas. To promote the arts in Indiana and makeup as an artistic expression, Re-creations will be hosting a competition of makeup artistry that will showcase creative beauty and fashion, and character and special FX, all culminating in the Grand Finale competition. The Grand Finale will consist of the top four competitors given two hours to create a fantastic, creative look and bring it back to the runway.

Re-Creations by Christopher and Julia began in 2009. As local makeup artists, they know all too well the ups and downs of attempting to push towards success. Their work has been featured in magazines, television, artistic photography, and various assortments of other projects. As a way of giving back to the community, and helping the local makeup artist gain exposure, they have decided to host the first of an annual competition called Face to Face.

The Face to Face competition will be held on July 30, 2011. The competition will be held at the Historic Hannah House located at 3801 Madison Ave., Indianapolis, IN. The competition will be comprised of three runway events beginning with creative beauty, then special character FX; the top two artists from each of the these runway events will then compete Face to Face for the third runway event by completing a creative makeup look in a two hour allotted timeframe. Guests will start arriving around 12:30 with the first runway event beginning at 2pm. With an assortment of vendors, an exhibition artist, and demonstrations this is sure to be one of the top events of the summer.
