2013 Ford Fusion Coming to Medlin Ford
Available technology on the 2013 Ford Fusion will deliver thousands of dollars in fuel savings for the frequent driver - and it will be available at Medlin Ford this fall.
Online, April 13, 2012 (Newswire.com) - With gas prices averaging almost $4 nationwide, and expected to increase this summer, consumers are looking for ways to save. Available technology on the 2013 Ford Fusion will deliver thousands of dollars in fuel savings for the frequent driver - and it will be available at Medlin Ford this fall.
Auto Start-Stop, one of the most popular features of Ford's hybrid vehicles, will be made available with the new 1.6-liter EcoBoost-powered Fusion. When driver brakes, the engine automatically switches off; as soon as the brake pedal is released, the engine restarts and is ready to run but the time the accelerator pedal is hit. A seamless restart cuts the gas used while idling, without creating a gap in performance. Auto Start-Stop improves fuel efficiency by about 3.5 percent, by Ford's count; predominantly city drivers can save up to 10 percent.
The Ford Fusion has long been known for fuel-efficiency, with the base model averaging an impressive 37 mpg highway.
This feature will be available for $295 on new Fusions. This system is priced significantly lower than Start-Stop technology in comparable cars, and drivers can expect a large return on their investment, saving up to $1,100 on gas in five years.
