The GT-R's twin-turbo V6 generates an impressive 545 horsepower and 462 lb-ft of torque. Rather than traditional cast-iron liners, each cylinder features a unique plasma coating on the cylinder walls making it more powerful than ever. Each engine is handcrafted by its own master engine-builder and assembled from lightweight, highly durable aluminum and magnesium parts. The GR-R's paddle-shifted 6-speed sequential dual clutch transmission shifts in only 0.15 seconds when in R-mode.

The heart of the GT-R features "anyone, anytime, anywhere" performance. This system consists of three switches that let the driver refine the driving experience with on-the-fly adjustment of the transmission, suspension, and VDC stability control.

This GT-R is one of the most aerodynamic vehicles on the market. A vent located on the side of the rear bumper helps manage airflow towards the rear of the vehicle while vents at the back of the front fenders reduce pressure in front wheel arches and help vent the brakes. Additional ridges at the corners of the front air dam enhance transmission of airflow from the front to the sides. The grille opening and functional hood scoops were created to optimize cooling while the rear spoiler creates downforce.

Nissan's supercar features a Bilstein DampTronic system that uses computerized control to continually adjust shock absorber damping. To help provide the ideal ride while handing balance at all times, this system constantly monitors 11 elements including vehicle speed, lateral acceleration, torque, engine rpm and braking behavior.

Nissan and Polyphony Digital, the creators of the world-famous Gran Turismo driving game, collaborated to design the GT-R's Multi-Function Display system. This screen provides quick readably with the flexibility of multiple customizable displays. Acceleration, breaking, steering, gear position and lap time are included in the seven factor preset screens. The system also feature four customizable performance screens, designed so each driver can organize information they are interested in. They can choose from several engine performance and efficiency parameters to cornering and acceleration/braking G-forces.
