2016 NFL Draft Prospect Kaiwan Lewis Earns Workout With Jets and Giants per Inspired Athletes

Kaiwan Lewis has workouts set up with Jets and Giants this week.

Former South Carolina and Rutgers standout linebacker Kaiwan Lewis has received invitations to work out for both the Jets and Giants of the NFL. The 6'1" and 227 pound Lewis was a tackling machine this past season, recording 67 tackles. He was a three year starter in his career between South Carolina and Rutgers, and also earned Academic All-American honors.

Lewis is a very sure tackler, and uses his great closing speed to quickly fill gaps. That great speed also allows Kaiwan to be an excellent blitzer. Kaiwan seems to always be in attack mode on the field. He is very instinctual and is tenacious in his pursuit of the the ball carrier. Versatility may be one of Lewis's greatest strengths however, as he also shows brilliance in pass coverage. As a middle linebacker, Lewis snagged 2 interceptions this past season. That total ranked him second on his team, as well as tied him for second among all Big-10 linebackers. Agent David Schuman explains, "Kaiwan has the tools to be a pro, he understands the game and is always around the ball, making plays that will help teams win games, he will also be a highly effective special teams player."

"Kaiwan has had an unbelievably productive career, both at South Carolina and in his last year at Rutgers. He is a true playmaker."

Rick Serritella, NFL Draft Bible Analyst & Founder

Kaiwan has an exceptionally high football IQ and prides himself in his ability as a student of the game. You can clearly see his preparation and hard work in his film as he consistently locates his keys and makes plays. Kaiwan Lewis has leadership skills that rank second to none, and should continue to be on the rise as we get closer to the draft.
