Online, July 27, 2010 (Newswire.com) - ON THE EDGE EVENTS officially announced this week preparations for a major running event to be held in Johnson City, Texas, near Austin, TX, on Saturday October 9, 2010 and is expected to attract runners from Texas and beyond.
The 24/7 Superhero Obstacle Course is an off-road obstacle course based run offering the Full- 24 obstacles over a 7 mile course for the seasoned runner and the Half "costume themed" fun run including 12 obstacles over 3.5 miles. Runners are encouraged to dress as their favorite superhero for the run and costume contests.
Once the Superheroes have completed their challenge and saved the day, a superhero party full of festivities awaits both the Superheroes and all spectators. There will be food, beer (one free beer per registrant 21 and over), live music, games, costume contest, fireworks, and much more.
The brainchild of Rafael "Trini" Trinidad of San Antonio, the event was inspired by the tremendous interest in off-road running. The superhero theme will also serve to honor special modern day "superheroes" for their service to their community including military, police, and fire.
A donation from the proceeds from The 24/7 Superhero Obstacle Course Challenge will benefit the Dallas based Kidd's Kids charity founded by syndicated morning radio star, Kidd Kraddick.
