2LS Shortlisted for the 2012 NCWE Work Experience Awards
Online, February 26, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Thames Valley based recruitment software developers 2LS Limited have been nominated in the Best Micro Enterprise category at the 2012 National Council for Work Experience Awards. The Reading-based business, makers of recruitment database GRIP, is one of only four Reading based companies be nominated for an award.
"Offering a local student the opportunity to noticeably impact and be involved in every aspect of a company is something that only a micro business can offer" says 2LS Managing Director Neil Thompson, who recalls similar experiences early in his career. "I learned a great deal from my internship, so I see this as a chance to give something back."
The student in question, 22 year old Akshay Koregaonkar, has worked for 2LS during his vacations from the University of Reading and, with Thompson's guidance, has developed an iPhone and Android based version of the applicant tracking system, named GRIP Mobile.
Thompson concludes "Helping, guiding and supporting Akshay as he develops an entirely new recruitment tool for our business has been an excellent symbiosis, as well as most personally and professionally gratifying."
About 2LS - www.2ls.com
Formed in 1993 and based in Reading, 2LS began as a generalist software development firm before evolving into a market-leading recruitment software business.
The company's flagship product, GRIP (the General Rapid Integrated Placement system), is used by a number of highly-regarded recruitment businesses worldwide. GRIPs remarkable success is due to it being a database designed for recruiters by recruiters. 2LS believes that recruitment specific software should work with - and for - the consultant, enabling recruitment businesses to maximise their return on investment of time, effort and spend.
GRIP's success is due to the fact that it was designed and built for recruiters by recruiters making it the most usable system on the market. GRIP's way of working mirrors the way a recruiter works ensuring that you can concentrate on your job rather than the software you use.
