2nd Annual VDAY Santa Monica Presents Two Nights in March 2011

Online, February 28, 2011 (Newswire.com) - VDay Santa Monica 2009 was such a huge success, it's back again to raise even more money to end violence against women and girls. All proceeds will go directly to charitable organization, Peace Over Violence. The 2nd annual event will be held at the state-of-the-art Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica on March 25th & 26th, 2011.

VDay is a global movement to end violence against women and girls by raising funds and awareness through benefit productions of playwright and founder Eve Enslerʼs award winning play The Vagina Monologues and other artistic works. In 2009, VDay Santa Monica, held at the incomparable Eli and Edythe Broad Stage, was an immense success with sold-out performances by such renowned entertainers as Calista Flockhart, Christine Lahti, Doris Roberts, Rosario Dawson, and Fairuza Balk.

Our mission is simply: an organized response against violence toward women. "A vision; we see a world where women live safely and freely. A demand; rape, incest, battery, genital mutilation and sexual slavery must end now. A spirit; we believe women should spend their lives creating and thriving rather than surviving and recovering from terrible atrocities. A process; we will work as long as it takes. Saturday Evening Program (March 26th)
8:00 PM - The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler with Rosalind Chao, Elaine Kagan, Wendy Hammers, Iona Morris and other notable and local guests.
10:00 PM - Red carpet after party sponsored by Lexus of Santa Monica.
