365give Takes on Chef Gordon Ramsey and Cancer in a Chef Challenge

365give Challenges Chef Gordon Ramsey in a Fundraising Showdown. Friendly kitchen rivalry evolves out of the spirit of giving back.

On November 21, 2010 Jacqueline Way, Founder of 365give will go "head to head" with Master Chef Gordon Ramsey and a line-up of top Canadian chefs to raise money in support of women's cancers at the Chef's Challenge.

Way recently started a social media project called 365give that she feels will help "change the world." Every day for 365 days, Way will do one thing to GIVE something back to the world.

Way was inspired by one simple thing, her 3 year old son - "I wanted to show people no matter how busy they are in their lives they can do one thing every single day to change the world. So many people think about how they would do to help change the world if only they had the time or the money. I don't have either but I am going to show people you can "be the change you want to see in the world." We all wait for someone else to do something and I decide to be that someone else. My inspiration is my 3 year old son. What kind of world am I leaving for him? I have to at least try and teach him along the way."

Way plans to take on Chef Ramsey and show the East, what the West is made of in the kitchen by participating in the upcoming fundraising event The Chef's Challenge taking place in Toronto at the end of November.

The event is raising money to support the research and education of women's cancers at Mount Sinai Hospital. Her goal is to raise $10,000 before the event date.

Way has had the opportunity to work with some of Canada's top culinary talent through her event production company and in the past produced some of Toronto's most renowned fundraising culinary events. Two of Way's long time friends and celebrity chefs Mark McEwan and Massimo Capra are participating in this event alongside Gordon Ramsey.

Even though the event is across the country Way feels it is worth the trip to raise awareness and funds for women's cancer.
"365give is about giving back on a daily basis - making giving an everyday habit. Unlike the Chef's Challenge, most of my daily GIVES take very little time, effort or money. Raising funds and awareness to help find a cure for women's cancers is something we all need to take time to do in our lives."

Way has raised over a million dollars for prostate cancer through her business and she wanted to the take the personal time to give back to women.

Way intends to leverage the spirit of the competition to support the spirit of giving. "I may not be a trained chef but I know my way around a kitchen and I am happy to take Gordon Ramsey on and show him that B.C. foodies know thing or two. Everyone thinks the Canadian culinary world revolves around Toronto but they are missing pure raw talent here in Vancouver. "
