Online, April 28, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Local and national artists will gather in Appleton, WI on July 24th for the 54h Annual Art at the Park Festival. Sponsored by the Appleton Trout Museum of Art, the yearly event draws thousands of attendees and hundreds of artists from across the country with hopes of acclaim and a piece of the $2000 in cash prizes. Artist's entry for competition in the festival ends on May 2, 2014 although applications for booth space will continue beyond that date, depending upon booth availability.
Since 1960, the Trout Museum of Art has sponsored the annual event, among many other exhibits and performances in order to raise awareness and excitement in the community for visual arts. Founded by Dr. Monroe Trout and his wife, Sandra Lemke Trout, an Appleton native, the museum is a collection of the couple's art gathered over a lifetime of world travel, in addition to displays of many local and international artist. Exhibitions from around the world schedule showings throughout the year. Music is also a part of the Trout mission and the museum sponsors Jazz performances open to the public.
"The Trout Museum is an institution in Appleton," stated last year's Art at the Park honorable mention recipient and well known local artist, Chad Brady. "The culture brought into our little Mid-west town through the Trout's efforts makes a difference. Our children know that art is an important part of life."
Featured at the Appleton, WI restaurant, Osorio's Latin Fusion, Brady's mural art provides a colorful and expressive focus in the main dining room, while multiple pieces adorn the remainder of the restaurant.
"We knew immediately who we wanted to do the murals," commented Osorio's Latin Fusion owner Kim Finnell. "As a Latin and International restaurant, we needed something spicy and Chad's flare with color and dimension displays exactly what we wanted. I love his work and hope to commission more soon!"
Established in the community as one of the top ranked Appleton restaurants, Osorio's Latin Fusion is a strong supporter of local and small business, including the use of local artists and crafts people for the recent interior update of the restaurant. The mural art of Chad Brady is only one of the efforts put forth to create a warm, welcoming, festive and family atmosphere at Osorio's Latin Fusion.
