A Banking Career For Retirees

• Product Specialists-Person may want to focus on a specific product and partner with the Retail Banking Branch Manager or the Corporate Banking Relationship Manager to sell his product to the bank's customers. Person will also assist with bringing new customers to the bank and join professional organizations for his field. A few of the product specialists include:
- Treasury Management-sell cash flow management products to businesses
- Merchant Services-sell credit card processing to businesses
- Investments-you'll have your choice of selling investment products to consumers or to businesses
- Wealth Management-you'll work with wealthy individuals in the community for all of their banking needs
If selling isn't your preference, there is a wide variety of career options behind the scenes of every bank:
• Product Management-Person will be responsible for understanding the needs of the customer, develop or enhance products as the bank's customers' needs change. He will be responsible for designing, testing and training the new products to the sales staff of the bank.
• Credit Officer-Person will underwrite and analyze financial statements of the bank's customers to determine if the customer qualifies for a loan.
• Information Technology-every department of the bank will need some form of technical support, whether it is the Retail Banking's teller system or working with the employees with computer problems.
• Bank Operations-banks have a several operation departments, such as the Retail Banking's system and the customers' transactions or the Treasury Management Departments' products.
