A Christmas Gift That Keeps on Giving from Integrated Agency - Targetbase

Defying the tradition of lavishing expensive gifts on clients at Christmas, integrated agency Targetbase said thank you at the end of 2012 in a far more meaningful way.

Instead of the usual extravagant chocolate boxes and end-of-year long lunches, Targetbase Integrated invited existing and potential clients to a digital marketing and social media seminar, Sharing Strategies, Getting results from social media, which they are hosting in Sydney on Thursday 21 February 2013.

Defying the tradition of lavishing expensive gifts on clients at Christmas, integrated agency Targetbase said thank you at the end of 2012 in a far more meaningful way. The drawcard for the event is guest speaker Laurel Papworth (laurelpapworth.com), author of Social Media Revenue, online lecturer at University of Sydney and social media guru.

Her expertise in online social behaviour has been recognised by Forbes Magazine, who named her as one of the top 50 social media influencers in the world, while Marketing Magazine named her, "Head of Industry, Social Media."

Targetbase Managing Director Tania Pougher says that offering her clients a social media seminar with a world-class speaker "gives them real benefits that they can use during their working day."

"Our feeling is that clients are becoming more sceptical of expensive gifts from agencies," Tania said. "They can potentially think: if they are wasting money on these gifts, then they must be charging too much."

The response to the event certainly suggests that the educational seminar has resonated with existing and potential clients.

"One business wanted to send 12 people, but we had to limit their seats as we already have a full house," Tania said.

There are two sessions on the day. The Senior Executives Briefing is aimed at CEOs, Marketing Directors and Senior Management, while there is also a seminar specifically for Marketing and Project Managers.
