Chef Namaste (www.chefnamaste.co) - the company focused on mindfulness-based cooking classes for kids - today announced the company launch in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Founded by food entrepreneur Natallia Clancy, a graduate of NYU's Master’s Food Studies and Nutrition program, Chef Namaste’s mission is to teach kids early on the right way to eat and how to develop positive associations with food and body image.

"At Chef Namaste, we believe in teaching children the most essential part of life and living- how to eat. Reinforcing positive, healthy and sustainable relationships with food that they will have for the rest of their lives,” says founder Natallia Clancy.

Research out of the Asia Pacific Journal of Clinical Nutrition has found that exposing children to new and different foods to which they may not have previously had access or exposure to may address many of the factors that contribute to childhood obesity.

Through the Chef Namaste method, kids learn components of nutrition, cooking techniques, body image and mindful eating. Children learn to use their five senses to explore how food can make them feel better and how to make positive food choices on their own. Chef Namaste sets out to reach children in their formative years by teaching them the benefits of being healthy, with the ultimate goal of reducing the risk of nutrition-related diseases.

“Yesterday in class we learned about eggplants and made a yummy salad. Eggplant is my new favorite food!” Said 9-year-old student, Julie.

Chef Namaste lessons are offered in private settings, as well as in private schools throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn. Visit www.chefnamaste.co to learn more.   [email protected]  (347)-699-5439.
