A Day Closer Makes Their First Awards
WHITEFISH, Mon., April 22, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Cassie Monaco, president and founder of A Day Closer, said she is pleased to announce the first group of award recipients and continues to be excited by the number of inquiries for assistance. "Our board of directors wishes we could provide assistance to all of the requests we receive," said Ms. Monaco.
In its first round of awards, A Day Closer will be helping mothers, wives and children in the spirit of compassion, keeping families connected and reducing recidivism. One mother has not seen her son in six years and writes, "I write my son but can barely afford the maybe 3 or 4 phone calls a month ... My only want is to make sure no matter what my son is loved." Another mother wrote, "I just can't afford the gas to make the three hours up and three hours back ... My son calls just once a week because I can't afford to put more than $20 a month on his account."
"Each story is so uniquely compelling and the reactions of the award recipients continue to provide the energy necessary to focus on our mission," said Ms. Monaco. One recipient wrote, "Thank you so much ... I can't wait to surprise my son ... You all got me in tears right now because of you I am going to see my son." Another mother of six said, "Thank you for providing this opportunity for me ... I must tell you, your email yesterday touched my heart, and it helped heal a wound."
A Day Closer owes its early success to the dedication of its employees and board of directors. "But none of this would be possible without the generous support of our donors," said Ms. Monaco.
A Day Closer is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization for the purpose of reducing recidivism by keeping families intact while a loved one is incarcerated. To donate to A Day Closer or learn more, please visit the company's website at www.ADayCloser.org.
