A First in Fiction: Story that's Unfolding Entirely as Facebook Posts
Pune, India, June 26, 2015 (Newswire.com) - ‘It’s Complicated’, a story for young adults, written by Suhasini Kirloskar, is a first in the world of fiction as it’s being published entirely as Facebook posts. The narration includes photos, text, memes, as well as text messages exchanged between the characters. While the page was set up on the 9th of May, it was opened to readers on the 11th of June, and has already attracted over 6800 likes.
Young readers today are spending most of their time on smart phones and other devices, and are consuming stories and visuals from posts on Facebook, WhatsApp etc. Suhasini Kirloskar felt that fiction too needs to be presented to these readers in the format that they are most comfortable with. Such fiction should include photographs, and also memes that readers will feel like sharing.
Suhasini opened the ‘It’s Complicated’ page to readers when the story had begun and the main characters had been introduced. The story is now going forward while readers are on board. The comments from readers indicate their eagerness to know how the story will unfold.
The characters of ‘It’s Complicated’ reflect young, urban Indians today, with their ambitions, dreams and emotions. While the central theme is love and relationships, there is also humor and pathos woven into the story.
