A Global Production Status Map Brings a Pandemic Production Into Focus
SAN FRANCISCO, May 7, 2020 (Newswire.com) - As the Coronavirus pandemic continues to impact creative marketing production around the world, many brands are facing a serious challenge when it comes to communicating with consumers. To address this issue, Genero has launched the Global Production Status Map, a worldwide map that taps into the company’s global creator network to get on-the-ground information about the state of marketing and advertising production during the pandemic.
The map enables marketers to get a quick snapshot of pandemic restrictions on production in 80 markets around the world, so they can make decisions about where, when and what to shoot and how to allocate precious marketing dollars.
In the news and across social media, it may appear that production is simply not possible due to worldwide lockdown measures, but the production state of play varies wildly around the world and depends entirely on local restrictions. Even where full lockdown measures are in place, Genero’s filmmakers, directors, animators, production companies and other creators are finding innovative ways to continue producing content safely and efficiently.
Using data gathered from hundreds of Genero’s trusted creators and verified against key news and government sources, the production status is being tracked and updated regularly. Where restrictions vary between states, territories and provinces, the more open status has been indicated.
The Genero Global Production Status Map shows that a diverse mix of production capability is possible around the world. All markets are available for post production services such as animation, editing and AR, as well as product shoots in accessible studios without using talent, which creates social distancing challenges.
Markets like Greece, the Netherlands and Portugal currently have slightly lighter regulations in place, and are able to handle studio shoots with talent using a small crew and following safety guidelines. Genero has found that many creators have home studios set up for professional shoots and are enabling clients to attend virtually to give live feedback.
Live production and shoots with talent on location are possible in some markets like Canada, China and Australia, with restrictions as noted. Restrictions can include the number of attendees on set, the size of the set to allow for social distancing, permits required and obvious sanitisation rules. Taiwan is the only market where full live production can currently move forward without restrictions, although safety measures are still in place.
For live productions in any market, social distancing rules apply, frequent sanitisation takes place and masks and gloves are worn. Other safety precautions vary depending on the region, and can include having an on-set nurse, temperature checks, guidelines on travel and attendees having to self isolate for a period of time before the shoot.
Mick Entwisle, CEO and Co-founder of Genero, said “These are unprecedented times for the creative industry and obviously safety is the first priority. But for marketers who haven’t had to hit pause completely, this map provides a range of options for moving forward with the relevant precautions in place. We’re so proud to see our creators around the world coming up with safe, innovative ways to keep producing content in such a challenging environment, and to be able to continue to support our clients.”
