"A Man's Magical Metamorphosis
In Life

He was a very successful Music Teacher in both Public and Private schools for over 20 years. Now, he is performing in some of the same schools he taught in along with Libraries, Day Care Centers, Restaurants and many other venues. His style of creativity has landed him work with many corporations like William Wrigley, John Deere, Vista Containers, and Miller Brewing.
His Balloon Sculpting and Magic has been enjoyed by various personalities as Steve Allen, Bill Wrigley, Monica Mancini, Bill Kurtis, Donald Driver, and Doc Severinsen; along with a variety of Jazz and Rock Musicians. But, how did this all begin?
Tim Glander began his interest in magic at the tender age of 8 when a friend of his father taught him how to vanish a coin. That sparked an interest along with an ad from a magazine that promised to turn you into a magician for only 10 cents and the cost of a self-addressed stamped envelope. From there, books and tricks fed the fire of Tim's interest in the Art. Then, one Saturday morning during a children's TV show, a man by the name of Don Alan took a cup and made a small ball appear, disappear, change into two large rubber balls and kept Tim laughing the entire time he was performing the trick. That was real magic!
Tim began to perform tricks for his friends, put together shows, and made it a priority in his life to become a magician.
Later in his teens, music took over his interests. He studied percussion, majored in Music in college and dropped magic until it was almost time to graduate. Before earning that diploma, a senior recital was required and with the encouragement from his percussion teacher, Tim composed a piece that included multi-percussion instruments, a rudimental drummer, electronic tape, slide presentation and of course, magic! At that point, the seed was replanted along with a new interest, balloons!
Tim searched for the most knowledgeable and creative artists in magic and balloon sculpting that he could find. Don Alan, Ken Brooke, Terry Herbert and Patrick Page became mentors in magic, while Tim studied Balloon Sculpting with Roger Siegel, Marvin Hardy, the late David Grist, and Ken Stillman among many others.
Tim entertains at birthday parties, family and block parties, County and State Fairs, and any other event looking for good quality entertainment. He also puts his teaching skills to work by doing interactive Magic and Balloon Sculpting workshops for schools and Parks and Recreation centers.
When asked if he looks forward to retiring, he said; "Retire? Never! Retiring from this job is like trying to retire from playing Jazz. It is impossible. You never can retire from creating and entertaining. It is just too much fun! It's either this or go to work!

Here's your chance to be entertained by this amazing balloon artist/magician. Tim will be featured in the Sycamore Block Party in downtown Sycamore IL Saturday September 18, 2010 from 4pm-6pm.
