A Mighty Creative Adventure™ Celebrates Mother and Daughter Bonds
The Mighty Creative Adventure™—a retreat experience celebrating mothers, girls, creativity and shared wisdom—will gather mothers and daughters in the Pisgah National Forest in Barnardsville, North Carolina, July 9 to the 12th 2015
Barnardsville, NC, June 8, 2015 (Newswire.com) - The Mighty Creative Adventure™—a retreat experience celebrating mothers, girls, creativity and shared wisdom—will gather mothers and daughters in the Pisgah National Forest in Barnardsville, North Carolina, July 9 to the 12th 2015.
The retreat is especially for women and girls ages 8 to 14—the age when girls are most vulnerable and susceptible to messages and memories that will shape their emotional identities as teenagers and young women. Together the women will disconnect from all the daily requirements of life, to indulge and take time to more deeply connect with each other, to nature and activate their creative hearts in curiosity, play and joy.
"In ancient times women gathered and elders shared their wisdom, skills and craft with younger generations," said Wendy Cook, MCA cofounder and founder of Mighty Girl ART, an empowerment program for girls in Virginia. "When women gather, they are given an opportunity to discover who they are and who they can become. In today's world, girls are influenced by the media and a culture that sends harmful and devaluing messages. The Mighty Creative Adventure is a re-claiming of the women's circle wherein we explore new and more meaningful practices that can enrich our lives with connection, creativity, intuition, and wisdom."

“Wendy and I recognized the great need and opportunity for us to collaborate and create an event especially for the love and creativity shared between mothers and daughters,” said Becky Jaine, MCA cofounder and founder of Creative Girl workshops for girls in North Carolina. “Our retreat offers many wonder-filled experiences including talking circles, special ceremonies, creativity workshops and time for simply being together. We hope this weekend will nurture memorable moments that will help to more deeply define the women and girls’ connection to each other and to what it means to be human.”
Retreat registration is open and spaces are available at the MIghty Creative Adventure Web site.
