Bark the Badge Has Launched to Support Law Enforcement Across the United States in Developing a Higher Performing K9 Program
To deliver on the Mission, Bark the Badge has an exclusive partnership with the best trainers in the business, USK9.
HOUSTON, March 4, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Jay Grimes, a 20-year law enforcement veteran, developed a new organization called Bark the Badge. The organization is focused on increasing safety and security through the added use of K9 Teams for law enforcement agencies across the United States. To do this effectively, Grimes has partnered with USK9 and their president, Roger Abshire. USK9 will have an exclusive partnership as the provider for Bark the Badge for supplying trained dogs, training the K9 handler and related equipment.
“We are pleased and excited to have launched the organization and secured this partnership,” says Grimes. “The effort to bring this mission forward has been a long time coming, and we are honored to announce the official start to this work. Having police officers paired with a world-class trained K9s is an extremely powerful tool, and we aim to remove the barriers that prevent this from happening in many of our nation’s police departments.”
The new partnership with USK9 will ensure that Bark the Badge meets its mission. USK9 was established and incorporated in 1989 with the goal of becoming absolutely paramount in the K9 industry by providing the world’s premier K9 trainers coupled with the industry’s best, hand selected K9s, all while focusing primarily on the highest performing K9 Team (dog and handler) possible. The results of this, focus, support the mission of Bark the Badge.
“Our vision from the outset was to develop a system to train both the canine and the human in a way that would help bridge the gap between the way each one learns and communicates,” explains Abshire. “The innovative and proprietary training system that we have developed and refined over the last 40 years of experience has focused on that vision and has proven to be more effective than traditional means, and second to none in the industry. We are pleased to be partnering with Bark the Badge on this worthwhile endeavor.”
Grimes is well-seasoned in how effective K9 teams are for police departments. He’s worked for the last 20-years investigating narcotics trafficking and the criminal organizations that manufacture, distribute and smuggle drugs throughout the state and nation. He is additionally aware of the struggles many departments face in funding to add to, or create an effective K9 Program. Grimes has founded several industrial service companies, which include a K9 service organization in Texas and Canada.
“After working with and around numerous canine service groups, Roger Abshire and the USK9 Team are distinctly the best in the business,” says Grimes.
Throughout his law enforcement and private K9 work, Grimes found a real need for a support foundation that knows both sides of the industries, which is where Bark the Badge was born. Grimes and his staff feel strongly that their public and private industry experience will help them deliver an improved, higher-quality service for trained dogs, training for handlers, and sourcing the needed equipment for their street work.
