A Night of BBQ & Blues to Support Autism Services

Jackson, MS, March 14, 2016 (Newswire.com) - April is Autism Awareness Month.  With one in 68 children diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum it makes Autism the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the United States.  Autism spectrum disorders are almost five times more common among boys than girls – with 1 in 42 boys identified. To raise support and awareness for this growing disorder, the Mississippi Children’s Home Service (MCHS) is hosting Light the Spectrum: Transforming Autism at Highland Village on Friday, April 1 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m.

Attendees will enjoy a night of barbecue and blues with great music from 4 Hearts, 1 Beat and DirtRoad Cadillac. The evening will also include a silent auction offering items from local businesses.  All proceeds raised will go to support the autism services of MCHS.

MCHS Autism Services provides clinical treatment, school-based consultation, parent training, teacher training, and an early intervention program ensuring the successful development of children on the autism spectrum.
