A shift in English language training has occurred in Europe and most member states now teach the English language at primary level. As a result, by the time the students leave second level, or high school, their English language capabilities are advanced.
They no longer wish to travel to the UK or Ireland for English summer courses to learn basic grammar; they are now looking for blended English language offerings combining a specific academic discipline with English for example Business and English.
In response to this growing demand, Griffith Institute of Language (Griffith College's English School) have recently developed several English language courses to cater for more proficient students.
The Griffith College School of English provides General English (20 hours) + 5 hours of 'Journalism for Learners of English' or General English (15 hours) + 10 hours 'Law for Learners of English'. Separate to these courses, the School of English provides an English course that combines actual content modules in Business, Journalism Design and Computing with English language classes.
Griffith College continues to refine and develop English language courses to meet the need of the learner and expect further courses to come on stream soon. English summer courses at the College are currently being prepared, and although it is more of a traditional offering, a superb experience is expected to be had by all in attendance.
