A Short Film Encourages Christians To Go Into Missions

Online, June 22, 2010 (Newswire.com) - An international team of 75 people from 24 different nations worked together to bring life to the vision of writer and co-director Hadassah Northe from New Zealand. "I'm still running to those in need and it will probably be my whole lifetime but really, this film is my story," said Ms. Northe.The Calling is a short movie whose goal is to encourage people to follow the calling that God has for their lives, no matter the cost.

The co-directors of The Calling Ruben Nussbaumer from France and Hadassah Northe have taken a very unusual approach by choosing to make the film available for free on the website www.the-calling.net. They want to encourage people to use it in their church or youth group.

Shot in Denmark and Scotland, the film contrasts a beautiful setting with the struggle the main character, Lydie Sewell from Switzerland, faces while trying to reach out to those in need despite the difficulties along her way. The story is an allegory of what many Christians face by standing up and responding to their vocation.
