A Show From The Backstage

What you see on any stage of any show is the result of the work of many people: apart from the singer or the actor on the stage, lots of other specialists work hard to make the success of the show.

The success of a show depends on an enormous quantity of factors; some are evident, some are intentionally hidden, but all of them are absolutely necessary: can you imagine a show with no lights? Or maybe with no scene, or costumes, or make-up? Make-up is fundamental in the theatre, to point out the expressions of the actors; the costumes are meant to create the scene, together with hairstyling and scene design, and the lights, that indicate the part of the stage the public should concentrate on, are totally part of the scene.
All these particular jobs are made by specialists, accompanied by their teams that follow and make their job possible: tailors, make-up artists, hairdressers, chauffeurs, stage-hands. There are agencies that take full responsibility of the whole technical part of the building and organization of the scene, taking care of all the details, visible and hidden ones: make-up, in fact, should not be too evident, though visible from the public, if the scene do not demand differently. The same for scene costumes, that must be appropriate for the scene design in case it's a costume play, and for the single character in case it's a representation in which the actor, comic or singer has no scenography, then the clothes will have to reflect his personality, or the message the show intends to ooze.
Agencies of this kind, that accompany the organization of the show from transports to the final curtain, must be able to take care of all the minimal details of the scene, thus the cooperators professionalism must be of a very high level, since the show practically lies on their shoulders and on the qualification of the people that will be on the stage in front of the public. Mostly for live shows, like theatre or live TV shows, times are very strict, and perfectly qualified specialists are needed to work fast and with precision. Particularly for TV live shows precision, readiness and rapidity are requested because the errors, apart from being irremediable, are exposed to a much wider public than a theatre's one.
It is clear then how the choice of the agency that takes care of the backstage of a show has a basic role, and an internal organization that includes a wide range of professions is necessary: directors, lights and audio technicians, tailors, property men, stage-hands...each one with his role, from the control of the lights to the research of the objects that will be used on the scene. As in many cases, it's a perfect equilibrium of time and space, in which the lack of any element makes the pyramid collapse: even that who for an inexpert eye looks like a work of poor importance, those who work in the theatre know that without that work the show cannot go on stage.
