A Strategic Partnership Between Awesense And ELO Sistemas Eletronicos

Awesense and ELO Sistemas Eletronicos: Forging a strategic partnership to provide Awesense senseNET revenue protection products to electric utilities in Latin America.

Electric utilities seeking to find and recover revenue that is lost to inaccuracies in metered billing or power theft in Latin America can benefit from the Awesense and ELO Sistemas Eletronicos partnership, announced today.

According to the World Bank, the loss and theft of electrical energy worldwide comes at a cost of more than $200 billion every year. With losses reaching over 10% in some areas of South America, combined with the rapid increase in energy consumption, finding and eliminating these losses in the power grid is one way in which utilities are striving to help keep costs down for customers.

ELO`s expertise and experience in providing solutions for electric metering, makes it easier for utilities to implement Awesense solutions to identify inefficiencies and losses in the grid across the Latin American market.

The Awesense Raptor, a portable wireless power monitor, and Awesense senseNET revenue protection applications will now be promoted, marketed and sold by ELO in Latin America. The two companies are working closely together to integrate the Awesense senseNET system into ELO's expanding suite of products and services. The system is ready for pilots throughout Latin America and volume rollouts are scheduled to be ready mid Q4 of 2012.

"The partnership with ELO, Latin America's leading metering technology provider, is a key strategic step in Awesense's international expansion" said CEO Mischa Steiner-Jovic. "Building upon our success in North America, the partnership with ELO showcases the critical importance that utilities in Latin America have to encourage increasing energy efficiency and reducing electrical losses in the grid." "Providing effective solutions to reduce losses and protect revenue is part of our strategy for Brazil and other Latin American countries" said Marcos Rizzo, ELO vice president of business development.
