AB32 Deep Dive! Series Helps Accelerate Carbon Emissions Compliance In California

Recompense LLC, announces the AB32 Deep Dive! Series at the Ocean Institute (www.ocean-insititute.org) from 9am to 6pm, March 23, 2012 in Dana Point Harbor, California.

Recompense LLC, leaders in Environmental Attribute Transaction Services for Qualified Renewable Entities, today announced the AB32 Deep Dive! Series at the Ocean Institute (www.ocean-insititute.org) from 9am to 6pm, March 23, 2012 in Dana Point Harbor, California. In an effort to further environmental and educational goals for the internationally recognized marine sciences facility, a portion of AB32 Deep Dive! proceeds will support Ocean Institute Sustainability Initiatives established by Daniel T. Stetson, Ocean Institute President & CEO.

California Assembly Bill 32 (Cap and Trade) is the most far reaching energy legislation in California history. AB32 is California's Green House Gas (GHG) program which took effect January 1, 2012. This is a documentation year however, as of January 1, 2013; business obligations under AB32 will be strictly enforced by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). The AB32 Deep Dive! Series is geared to help CA companies initially identified by CARB, as well as potentially thousands of AB32 inductees understand, assess and prepare for stringent carbon emissions standards and requirements.

"AB32 presents significant challenges for California firms unaware of the scope of the legislation and their compliance obligations across industries." said Michael Campbell, Co-founder and Managing Partner, Recompense LLC. "Ten years ago, supply chain management reigned as the most profitable target for business process optimization. Today, it is the energy value chain which holds the key to profitability in a down economic climate. Strict AB32 compliance requirements force a complete reassessment of how, when and where energy is used across your portfolio".

Session I "A Carbon Economy" features a subject matter expert panel of California and National business leaders spanning Finance, Legal, Sustainability and Energy markets who will define compliance obligations and impacts under Cap and Trade for participants and map the path toward AB32 compliance. AB32 Deep Dive! Series keynote will be delivered by Mr. John Melby, Managing Director and Head of North American Markets for GreenX. Session II, "Delivering Profitable Sustainability", addresses the ever changing Renewables market, with actionable strategies and tactics to offset AB32 requirements in industrial and commercial applications, featuring a Renewable industry panel of experts across Distributed Power Generation, Finance, Project Development, Operations and Maintenance.

"The Ocean Institute continues to lead from the front to protect California's environment for future generations" said Daniel T. Stetson, Ocean Institute President & CEO. We are excited to host this important event with a gathering of esteemed business leaders from across the United States. We believe harmonizing business operations with the environment must become a key objective for large and small business".

One of the greatest misunderstandings is that AB32 is an entity based program and not a facility specific program. The reality is if your company falls under AB32, all your California facilities must comply. The goal of this in-depth session is to provide attendees with information to establish defensible positions meeting AB32 requirements across the State. "The Carbon Economy is growing rapidly in California and steadily transforming from a currency dominated economy to a carbon based one" said Jay Purcell, Co-founder and Managing Partner, Recompense LLC. "The purpose of this session is to help Californians and companies that do business in California survive and thrive operating within Carbon Economy market dynamics. We will help attendees get in front of the issue with planning resources and specific guidance in regards to GHG emission limits and compliance requirements".
