Absecon Veterinary Hospital Hosts Annual 'Bark in the Park' Fundraising Event
Proceeds from this 2nd annual event will benefit the hospital's beloved 501(c)3 charity, Laddie's Legacy.
ABSECON, N.J., April 6, 2022 (Newswire.com) - Absecon Veterinary Hospital is pleased to announce the 2nd annual 'Bark in the Park' dog-friendly fundraising event on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at the 4H Fairgrounds in Mays Landing, New Jersey, between 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Absecon's popular dog-friendly event will benefit the hospital's non-profit 501(c)3 charity, Laddie's Legacy, which commemorates the life of Laddie, a very large and beautiful Maine Coon kitty that was surrendered to Absecon Veterinary Hospital because his owner could not pay for increasing medical fees. The charity was created to not only remember dear Laddie but also to help other families in dire financial need when their pet faces a health crisis.
"We are honored to bring this event to the community again this year," says Cherie Scheurich, Hospital Administrator and Laddie's Legacy Board Member. "It's a great way to raise funds to support Laddie's Legacy, which seeks to alleviate this heartbreaking decision by aiding pet owners to help offset the financial burden of emergency care when the pet has a favorable outcome. We believe that the place of loving, cherished animals in families should never be threatened by concerns over the cost of unforeseen veterinary care."

About Laddie's Legacy
Laddie's Legacy is a non-profit 501(c)3 veterinary bill assistance program run by the Absecon Veterinary Hospital Foundation, Inc.
After undergoing many surgeries to address his health issues, Laddie lived the remainder of his life with Cherie, Executive Director of Laddie's Legacy, and a house full of fur siblings. Unfortunately, the surgery was very hard on poor Laddie, and he had great difficulty with recovery. In October 2021, Laddie received his calling from across Rainbow Bridge and, on a cool Saturday morning, Laddie sadly departed the family.
According to those who knew him, Laddie's life was so full and meaningful, and this amazing boy will live in their minds and hearts forever. The definition of legacy is when a soul dies; the mark the individual left on the world represents that individual's legacy. It is about the richness of the individual's life, including what that soul accomplished and the impact he had on people and places. Ultimately, the story of an individual's life reflects the individual's legacy and establishes a purpose.
