Acclaimed "Wild Man" Bear Grylls Will Appear On The June Cover Of University Link Magazine, Released June 1, 2010.

Record-breaking adventurer and host of Discovery Channel's Man vs. Wild, Bear Grylls opens up to University Link about life back in civilization and his undying need for danger...except when he's at home.

North Hollywood, CA (June 7, 2010) - University Link Magazine (ULM), a monthly magazine written by college students and exclusively designed for college students, announced that will feature dare-devil Bear Grylls on their last issue before their summer hiatus.

Bear Grylls is notorious for his treacherous encounters with the wild, but has a past richer than the on-screen persona reveals. After a severe accident parachuting for the British Army, Grylls, who received the nickname "Bear" when he was just weeks old, climbed Mt. Everest, becoming the youngest British man ever to do so. His record breaking and life-threatening exploits didn't end there, and he began to share his "survival techniques" with the world through his show. In the interview titled "Getting Wild with Bear Grylls," the adventurer divulges into the lesser-known details of his life, what to expect from him next, and what it means to "survive."

"In the choices you make for your life; be bold, be bold, be bold...[Surviving means] digging deep, and going the extra mile when it hurts," Grylls reveals to ULM. He also elaborates on what he stays away from-a surprising insight, considering the fact that he seems to embrace and face it all. "Avoid dream stealers and stinking-thinking."

He does, however, have a soft spot for the mundane. "When I am at home, I want no drama and no danger...[and] I have a weakness for pina coladas and pastries."

Chad Tyner, co-founder of ULM, commented on Gryll's cover story, saying, "We are all amazed at the situations Bear puts himself in. It is a true testament of determination and will power to prevail. We felt Bear's philosophy on overcoming obstacles would relate to our college readers, especially when many are graduating and learning how to survive in the real world."

Additional articles to be found in the upcoming June Issue of ULM include feature stories of great interest to college students, such as careers, health & fitness, sports, technology, entertainment, style, politics and more.

The magazine will have a circulation of 25,000 copies which will go to students who subscribed on the University Link Magazine website or through a sales representative on campus. New subscribers can take advantage of the magazine's reduced annual rate of $20 for 10 issues.
