ACE Scholarships Kansas Announces New Director AJ Kuhle

AJ Kuhle

ACE Scholarships Kansas is pleased to announce that it has named AJ Kuhle as the organization's new Director effective January 2022. AJ is an energetic, proven leader who will draw on his wealth of experience in the non-profit sector to build upon ACE's transformational work in Kansas and position the organization for a new phase of growth.

"Our board of directors is thrilled to welcome AJ into the Kansas community as we expand at a very critical time," says Norton Rainey, CEO of ACE Scholarships, one of the largest providers of privately funded K-12 scholarships for economically disadvantaged students in the U.S.

Since launching in 2016 with the generous support of Glenn Swogger and the Redbud Foundation, ACE Kansas has awarded more than 1,700 scholarships to ensure that low-income students receive scholarships to the private school of their choice. "It is no secret that far too many children are trapped in failing schools, and in the aftermath of COVID-19, the crisis has only gotten worse," says Rainey. "Creating educational opportunities for low-income families is more important now than ever before. I'm confident AJ possesses the skills and the passion necessary to scale ACE Kansas to have an even greater impact in the months and years ahead."

AJ brings to ACE the qualities of a leader, having played professional basketball for the San Antonio Spurs and having served as an advancement officer at Valor High School in Denver and the Archdiocese of Denver. Additionally, AJ has been a basketball coach for USA Basketball and the University of Denver.

"I have a passion and personal connection to ACE's mission to provide low-income families with equal access to high-quality education," says AJ. "It is truly an honor to join the ACE team and to expand our work in Kansas. I'm thrilled to join such a special organization."

AJ holds a Bachelor of Science in Management degree from the Air Force Academy and a Master of Professional Studies in Organizational Leadership from the University of Denver. AJ's wife, Lindsay, is the head women's golf coach at the University of Kansas, and they have two children.
