ACI Solutions Presents at NATO's Cyber Security Conference
Arlington, VA, November 3, 2016 (Newswire.com) - ACI Solutions was a proud participant of the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operations Training Center’s (NMIOTC) first annual Cyber Security Conference hosted in Souda Bay, Greece on October 4 – 5, 2016. The conference events focused on the cyber security challenges facing the Global Commercial and Government Maritime industries. The conference was opened by Commodore Geogios Tsogkas (Commandant - NMIOTC) and BGen Christos Athanasiadis (NATO/SHAPE ACOS Cyber).
Following the commencement, NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) General Curtis M. Scaparrotti and the Chief of Hellenic Navy General Staff Vice Admiral George Giakoumakis provided key note speeches, highlighting the need for additional cyber security awareness and innovation throughout the Maritime Industry.
As a panel speaker, ACI’s Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Mohamed A. Hersi presented on “Cyber Risks to Ports & Critical Infrastructure”. In the presentation, Mr. Hersi elaborated on cyber risk’s recent trends and how ACI is assisting our clients by implementing new technologies and best practices to help mitigate the ever changing threat landscape. Mr. Hersi also highlighted ACI’s Threat Assessment, Prediction & Prevention (TAPP) Cyber Security platform to the distinguished NATO military and civilian personnel.
ACI’s TAPP platform is the industry’s leading cyber security solution designed to identify, detect and proactively respond to cyber security threats within the enterprise. TAPP pairs the latest technologies in social analytics with cutting edge attack mitigation strategies, protecting infrastructures from every angle. The seamless cycle of protection integrates hardware, software and services to not only stop attacks, but predict when these attacks will occur.
Mr. Hersi shared with the attendees how the TAPP Platform is fully customizable for the Maritime industry and helps by mitigating against the unique set of challenges that ports and fleets face on a daily basis. ACI has found that as clients implement new automation technologies to increase efficiency and productivity for systems and applications, there are typically additional cyber vulnerabilities that are not addressed. Additionally, out of date security policies and procedures that aren’t current to the latest security threats open a client’s infrastructure up for cyber-attacks.
Capping off a great week, Mr. Hersi was presented with the Distinguished Presenters Award by Commodore Geogios Tsogkas. ACI Solutions would like to extend our gratitude to NATO, NMIOTC Staff, event organizers and all who participated to make the first NMIOTC Cyber Security conference a huge success.
