ACMSS Continues to Expand Meaningful Use Opportunities - Proud to Announce Non-Profit Partnership with AAUCM
The AAUCM has joined with the American College of Medical Scribe Specialists (ACMSS) to offer AAUCM members an Urgent Care-specific certified scribe program
Orlando, FL, April 29, 2015 (Newswire.com) - The American College of Medical Scribe Specialists (ACMSS) has joined with American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine (AAUCM) in their new Non-Profit Partnership. ACMSS will be offering AAUCM members an Urgent Care-specific certified scribe program and discounts to membership toward certification.
Any staff members who will be entering Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) information for Medication Laboratory and Radiology Orders attesting for meaningful use must be certified and credentialed. Certified Medical Scribe Specialists (CMSS) qualify towards meeting the CPOE measure for EHR adoption with CMS.
"ACMSS certifies all scribes in the outpatient setting by specialty for this purpose” said ACMSS President and CEO Kristin Hagen. “We represent the highest professional quality of certified and credentialed medical scribes in the industry for medical record documentation enabling practice efficiencies and assisting towards practice compliance needs.”
ACMSS strongly believes in taking proactive care of organizations’ needs both for clinical documentation as well as keeping them up to date on latest regulations. ACMSS reminds facilities to begin their 90-day attestation now.
Those who don't use the program will face penalties beginning in 2015. The payment reduction starts at 1% and increases each year that an eligible professional does not demonstrate Meaningful Use to a maximum of 4% according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
