ACOFP Welcomes New Regional Society

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill., July 6, 2021 (Newswire.com) - The American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) announces the creation of its newest affiliate society, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians - Mountain West Regional Society (ACOFP-MW), following approval at the ACOFP Congress of Delegates.

ACOFP affiliate societies provide valuable opportunities for osteopathic family physicians at a local level, and with the formation of ACOFP-MW, this region of the United States now has more chances to network, advocate and grow the profession. Officially chartered under the state of Utah, the new society also represents physicians in Idaho and Wyoming.

"This is a great development for these states that don't have large numbers of osteopathic family physicians to support their own robust ACOFP state societies at this time," said ACOFP Vice President David J. Park, DO, FACOFP, FAAFP, who was integral in spearheading the society's launch. "Collaborating and pooling resources, especially leadership talent at the board level, is a smart way to ensure an active and successful society that will benefit many in Idaho, Utah and Wyoming."

Susan Park will serve as the society's executive director. The newly elected ACOFP-MW Board of Governors includes:
