Lawrence's talents come to life in major motion pictures such as, The Pursuit of Happyness, alongside Will Smith; feature films such as The Island, Christmas with The Kranks, Garfield, K-PAX and Terminator II. Some of Lawrence's credited television appearances include Weeds, My Name Is Earl, Reba, Martin and Seinfield.

Lawrence being an individual of many traits collaborated with three business partners to form the Black Theater Artist's Workshop. Originally, an alliance with The Los Angeles Theater Center, the workshop grew to become its own entity. Lawrence has also launched his own company, Prayer Dudz.

A native of Compton, California, Lawrence discovered ways to entertain himself with his innate talent of imitating and mimicking neighborhood companions. He then developed an astonishing ability to adopt dynamic mannerisms and characters. Lawrence secured a full scholarship to the University of Southern California by remaining loyal and focused on performance skills he had developed over the years. While studying at USC, Lawrence sharpened his craft by working professionally with the critically acclaimed Los Angeles Theater Center. Eventually, a Hollywood talent agent took notice of his raw technique, which allowed Lawrence to land his first job in television- a role on Hill Street Blues. Upon graduating, Lawrence won a NAACP award for his role in Glass House (Ken Davis) and gained attention from film director, James Cameron, who casted him as the Burly Attendant of the insane asylum in action-thriller Terminator II. Impressed by his comedic abilities, Cameron extended Lawrence's two days of work into several weeks of production; launching, the beginning of Lawrence's flourishing career.

As a philanthropist, Lawrence brings awareness of social, political and economic issues through comedy. He is devoted to educating young individuals about the various facets of the entertainment industry. Lawrence's genuine altruistic spirit is exemplified through his support and contribution to charities such as, Operation Smile, ACT Today, and Spirit of the Heart to name a few. Lawrence appreciation for the blessings and opportunities afforded to him spills over into his involvement with organizations that primarily assist children, diabetics, and breast cancer patients.
