Addiction Experts Publish Consensus on the Soberlink System

Journal of Addiction Medicine

Soberlink, the leader in mobile breath alcohol detection technology, announced today its inclusion in an expert panel consensus paper about the use of remote monitoring in the clinical treatment of alcohol use disorder.

The consensus paper - written by a panel of nine alcohol use disorder treatment and research experts - was recently published in the Journal of Addiction Medicine. The paper examines the Soberlink System as a method of BAC collection and monitoring in various recovery situations. The experts concluded that remote monitoring could play a vital role in successful recovery as a method of deterrent, and a means of early detection and intervention.

Soberlink technology puts active and involved recovery into the hands of both the patient and the clinician. This consensus paper, written by AUD experts, further proves that the Soberlink System belongs in modern recovery care programs.

Brad Keays, CEO

“…Monitoring serves the dual purpose of measuring symptom improvement and also providing support for decisions on whether and how to adjust subsequent care to reduce the likelihood of relapse.”

“Soberlink technology puts active and involved recovery into the hands of both the patient and the clinician,” says Brad Keays, CEO of Soberlink Healthcare, LLC. “This consensus paper, written by AUD experts, further proves that the Soberlink System belongs in modern recovery care programs.”

New healthcare legislation and insurance regulations have made AUD treatment a requirement from most health organizations. The publishing of this consensus paper only further demonstrates that the conversation around alcohol use disorder continues to evolve toward personalized and long-term models of care.

Soberlink is committed to changing the perception of alcohol use disorder by developing technology for addiction and recovery management. In 2016, the Soberlink Cellular Device gained FDA 510(k) clearance for medical use.
