Advanced Micro Instruments, Inc., which manufactures superior quality gas analyzers and gas sensors, recently developed an infographic that dispels myths about hydraulic fracturing, more commonly known as "fracking." "Fracking: Economic Boom or Safety Bust?" takes a look at some of the rumors and myths surrounding the fracking process and attempts to educate readers about the actual, known effects.

"Fracking is a misunderstood process, and at Advanced Micro, we're very sensitive to that," said a representative from Advanced Micro Instruments, Inc. "In developing this infographic as a resource for those who want to know the truth behind hydraulic fracturing, we hope to put some of those myths to rest."

The new infographic takes a look at what fracking is, how it works, and addresses the concerns that many have raised about it. It displays some popular opinions seen widely in traditional and social media and weighs them against findings of organizations like the EPA and the American Council on Science and Health. Provided are also stunning statistics that describe the effects of fracking and what will result in the future.

Celebrities such as Mark Ruffalo and Robert Redford have weighed in on fracking and their opinions are shown in this infographic. Another feature shown is some of the unknown facts about a popular film documentary Gasland, which depicted the damages caused in result to fracking. A sequel was also created that aired in July of 2013 on HBO.
