ATC was recognized at the 14th annual ceremony held August 27, 2013, at Cincinnati Music Hall.
To honor the enormous positive contributions made by family and privately owned companies, both large and small, the University of Cincinnati and the Goering Center for Family & Private Business each year present the Tri-State Family and Private Business of the Year Awards.
At the ceremony the Goering Center recognized runner-ups and category winners for their success. An independent panel of judges, comprised of local business leaders, reviewed 550 nominees for the award, narrowed them down to 92 finalists, and then named winner and runners up in six categories (three family business and three private business), based on a company's years in business.
"With so many nominees, we are thrilled to be recognized among such a distinguished group of businesses," said David Goodwin, managing partner at ATC. "We have proudly served the tri-state community for 14 years and consider it a privilege to be involved with community organizations such as The Goering Center."
The Goering Center for Family & Private Business at The University of Cincinnati is a prominent educational resource center for family and private businesses. According to the Goering Center, "Family and privately owned businesses have a tremendous impact on the nation's total economic climate. In fact, they account for more than half the total employment, new job creation and Gross Domestic Product. This award recognizes companies or individuals who have made a long-term community impact, through their commitment to philanthropy, community service, growth of employment, and community image."
