Pat Bergin, President of Aerofil Technology Inc. (ATI), America's resource for aerosol and liquid contract packaging, will discuss Lean Manufacturing at the Midwest Aerosol Association's (MAA) Fall Meeting, November 15th at Cafe Le Cave, 2777 Mannheim Street, Des Plaines, Illinois 60018.

With more than 30 years of operations, finance, sales and marketing experience, Pat has brought both a broad and deep understanding of continuous improvement to Aerofil Technology Inc. as President. His mission is the relentless pursuit of excellence through the continuous development of organizational LEAN Leadership and the total elimination of waste.

Bergin learned and developed his Lean (kaizen) management skills under the coaching of Shingijutsu Co. Ltd. of Japan, an original architect of the Toyota Production System. At the MAA Fall Meeting, Bergin will share his insights on why so many industries across the globe are adopting Lean, how those that adopt early become the eventual leaders in their industry, and implementing the key tools of Lean Manufacturing.

"I am thrilled to be able to share the benefits of Lean Manufacturing with our industry," noted Bergin. "The MAA Fall Meeting is the ideal place to discuss improvements in manufacturing practices, improvements that will help strengthen our industry as a whole."

In 2007, ATI adopted the principles of the Toyota Production System, which focuses on streamlining the packaging process through the total elimination of waste and improvement of overall customer value. The implementation of key lean tools such as 6S, Standard Work, Pull Systems, and One-Piece Flow were instrumental to the company's success.

"We have seen exponential growth since the starting our Lean journey in 2007," noted Bergin. "We have experienced a 100 percent increase in productivity and double digit inventory turns thanks to Lean Manufacturing and our Continuous Improvement Culture."
