Africa Creative Agency (ACA) represented the motherland to the fullest at the 20th annual Urbanworld Film Festival, held in New York City this past weekend. The continent’s first Pan-African Talent, Digital Marketing and Branding firm, premiered the critically acclaimed Nollywood film, Gidi Blues, at the AMC Empire Theater on Saturday afternoon.

Written and directed by Femi Odugbemi, the love story follows Akin, an indulged playboy from an affluent family, who meets a beautiful young community activist, Nkem. Their adventures drag Akin into a whirlwind experience that unravels the world, as he knows it.  Shot entirely in Lagos, Nigeria, Gidi Blues was one of four African films shown at this year’s festival: Cotton Twines by Leila Djansi (Ghana), Dar Noir by Hamadi Mwapachu (Tanzania), and Disney’s Queen Of Katwe starring Lupita N’yongo and David Oyelowo.
