AFXCreates Announces Partnership with Skateboard Legend
Online, October 16, 2012 (Newswire.com) - AFXCreates announced today their partnership with Madrid Skateboards to use immersive 3D visualizations of Madrid's 2013 line of handcrafted downhill skateboards. By utilizing photogrammetry and laser 3D scanning, AFX will produce extremely detailed and accurate models of each skateboard deck shape, concave, and drop-thru. With the addition of 3D maps, AFX will showcase the colorful graphics on the undersides of the decks, and the variety of exotic woods and laminate finishes on the top of each deck. All this comes together in a full interactive 3D environment which allows Madrid's customers to see all the subtle nuances that would otherwise be lost with static photography shot at multiple angles.
"We are thrilled to partner with Madrid Skateboards to promote their 2013 deck line using 3D interactivity," explains AFX partner Joel Chrisman. "This technology offers unprecedented visual edutainment to Madrid's customers so they can fully see the craftsmanship that goes into each deck and can determine which deck best suits their style and riding preference."
When asked about the previous 3D work AFX has done for Madrid, owner Jerry Madrid explained his reaction, "This stuff is amazing! We have seen a surge of riders and fans comment on how the 3D really puts it over the top for them."
The creative team at AFX is excited for this project and its launch towards the end of this year. Another Madrid project in the works is the fully animated 3D visualization of the new Ronin skate truck. The Ronin's patented innovation has grabbed rock star status for its stability, while shattering the all-time downhill speed record.
