Austin-based public relations, design, and branding firm Wyatt Brand today announces being awarded contracts for six new accounts including a global campaign for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)-a specialized agency of the United Nations.
UNESCO's International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD) has selected Wyatt Brand working in partnership with Austin's One Story Productions from 8 finalist agencies in 4 nations to embark on a global awareness-building campaign through 2013.
The IFCD promotes sustainable development and poverty reduction in developing and least-developed countries through support to projects that aim to foster the emergence of a dynamic cultural sector, primarily through activities facilitating the introduction of new cultural policies and cultural industries, or strengthening existing ones.
To date, the Fund has provided more than USD $3.9 million in funding for 61 projects in 40 developing countries, covering a wide range of areas, from the development and implementation of cultural policies, to capacity-building of cultural entrepreneurs, mapping of cultural industries and the creation of new cultural industry business models.
"Being selected is humbling and-frankly-a validation of our founding idea that cultural entities deserve their own agency," says business director David Wyatt. He continues, "Collaborating closely with One Story Productions, this project will take our public relations skills to the top-tier global news outlets and to most of the 40 nations funded by the IFCD."
Aaron Weiss, principal at One Story Productions, adds, "We're preparing to travel to three continents to document the IFCD's important work-and we couldn't feel more ready!"
UTx Iconography
Wyatt Brand is also announcing a collaboration with the University of Texas at Austin's Drug Dynamics Institute/College of Pharmacy team developing one of four University of Texas gateway MOOCs (Massive Open Online Course) being launched this September as part of the EdX platform.
The UT System Institute for Transformative Learning has established a systemwide partnership with edX (www.edx.org), a non-profit provider of online courses founded by Harvard and MIT.
This partnership ("UTx") represents a unique opportunity for UT Austin faculty, departments, colleges, schools, and academic units to highlight and share their unique strengths with students, faculty, and alumni around the world.
The agency is adding a account representative, multiple contractors, translation and global monitoring services, and increasing office space by 30% to keep pace with the growth with recent and ongoing client contracts.
