Aging at Home in the DMV Just Got Easier, Lifematters Acquires Care Options
This acquisition will improve options for in-home care and care management services available to the rapidly growing population of seniors, and their families, throughout the DMV.
FALLS CHURCH, VA , March 3, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Lifematters, a greater DC metro provider of private pay home health care services, announced today that it has acquired Care Options, a respected care management, home health care and support services provider. This purchase is expected to improve and expand the service options for "aging in place" available to Maryland, the District of Columbia and Northern Virginia residents and their families.
With 38 years of combined care management and in-home care experience, Lifematters and Care Options, together, will help local seniors realize a better quality of life while aging in-home. Lifematters is the largest employer based home care company in the region.
"The acquisition of Care Options further enhances Lifematters ability to provide better and more comprehensive aging in place services for our senior clients and their families."
Scott Thompson, CEO of Lifematters
"Along with the nation, the greater DC metro region's population of seniors is rapidly growing and, therefore, creating a critical need for more encompassing aging in place services," said Scott Thompson, CEO of Lifematters. "Turnkey support services and quality of life are important concerns for both our clients and our company, thus, Lifematters is dedicated to continually expanding and innovating to provide the most all-inclusive aging in place services available today." Thompson further remarked, "The acquisition of Care Options further enhances our ability to provide better and more comprehensive support for our senior clients and their families."
The official transfer of ownership took place on February 21, 2016. The Braff Group, led by Managing Director Mark Kulik, originated the transaction and served as the exclusive mergers and acquisitions advisor to Care Options. Upon settlement, Scott Thompson assumed the role of CEO of Care Options. The founder of Care Options, Ann O'Neil, will continue to play a key role in the transition period. The Lifematters management team is now busy preparing to roll out additional new services during 2016.
"When I founded Care Options three decades ago, I had the vision to provide an integrated approach to care for aging and disabled adults in a way that enables them to live fuller, richer lives," said Founder Ann O'Neil. "I couldn't feel better about passing the baton of Care Options services to Scott Thompson and the entire Lifematters team. They are a quality organization who share my passion for delivering best-in-class services to every person we serve."
