Agonda White Sand Supplies Winter Sun Without the Tropical Price Tag

Agonda White Sand, in unspoiled SOuth Goa, is giving holidaymakers the chance to live the idyllic beach life on a budget - with 10% off bookings made before 31 October 2010

With temperatures dropping and autumnal nights drawing in, thoughts start to turn to winter holidays and the chance to swap the gloomy British chill for blue skies and sunshine. But for the cost-conscious sun-seeker, a budget winter holiday all too often means mass-market packages, soulless concrete hotels and overcrowded beaches.

Agonda White Sand in South Goa gives holidaymakers the chance to live the idyllic beach life on a budget. A cosy cottage on a palm-fringed stretch of pristine sand starts from as little as £20 a night. And, for bookings made before 31 October 2010, guests get an additional 10% off the total cost of their stay.

Set amidst a lush coconut plantation right on the beach, Agonda White Sand's wooden cottages are a cut above the local alternatives. Every cottage has an en-suite shower room, a big comfortable bed with a sprung matress, and a shady veranda with a view of the sea. The resort also offers free Wifi, sun loungers by the beach, a restaurant, and cushioned chill out areas in the gardens where guests can enjoy a cold beer or cocktail whilst watching the sun set.

" People feeling the pinch don't have to miss out on escaping to the sun this winter. Our chilled out retreat is great value for money, and with only 12 cottages we can really look after our guests. So forget freezing temperatures and four hours of daylight - come and find your own slice of paradise at Agonda White Sand."

A long stretch of nearly deserted white sand framed by low mountains, Agonda, in the scenic far south of Goa, is still relatively untouched by the package tourism and overdevelopment of the north. Agonda White Sand's cottages are made from locally sourced materials and have been designed to blend into - not blight - the natural environment.

The peaceful resort is a perfect spot for sunbathing, reading, watching the local fishermen and swimming in the clear waters of the Arabian Sea. If visitors tire of the laid back life there are bustling markets, whitewashed Portuguese churches, Hindu temples and wildlife sanctuaries to explore. And for nightlife, Agonda's famous and decidedly discovered cousin, Palolem, with its late night bars and the Silent Noise headphone parties, is just a few kilometres away.
