AIC and Goodwill Industries of Fort Worth Announce Multi-Site, Cutting-Edge Telecommunications Project
The installation of networked Samsung OfficeServ™ systems will dramatically reduce costs for Goodwill, improve operating efficiency and make staff more accessible
Online, June 16, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Arlington, Texas (June 16, 2010) - American International Communications, Inc. (AIC) and Goodwill Industries of Fort Worth today announced a major multi-site telecommunications project that will lead to substantial cost savings and also make Goodwill staff more accessible to the communities it serves. The cutting-edge project involves the networking of advanced Samsung OfficeServ™ 7000 Series communications platforms at 21 of Goodwill of Fort Worth's sites, including its headquarters and several retail store fronts.
Feature-rich Samsung OfficeServ 7100 systems, the backbone of the communications upgrade, offer a range of sophisticated functions that will make Goodwill staff more reachable while also helping to enhance operating efficiency at the organization's sites. The systems support call recording and offer a mobile extension feature that enables calls to user desk phones to ring simultaneously on their mobile and other phones. A voice mail to email integration allows voice mail viewing on user PCs.
The cost savings will result from a creative networking solution, which is being implemented by AIC's Arlington-based office-an authorized Samsung dealer and leading provider of converged communications solutions. Once the installation is complete, Goodwill's Fort Worth sites will be able to connect to each other via a simple 4-digit number.
"By linking the phone systems at the Goodwill Industries of Fort Worth stores, the organization will significantly reduce site-to-site as well as long distance calling costs," says Tom Rushlow, Vice President/General Manager, AIC. "Nine stores already have been fitted with Samsung OfficeServ™ systems and the remaining ones will be networked within the next 12 months."
"In comparison to our previous telecommunications system, we have seen immediate benefits from the Samsung OfficeServ™ solution," says Mike Hennig, Senior Vice President of IT for Goodwill Industries of Fort Worth. "Communications between sites has been dramatically enhanced and overall operating efficiency increased. Plus, the savings we expect to incur from the site-to-site networking solution can help fund important future community programs, such as a technology education initiative we are developing with AIC and Samsung Business Communication Systems."
