Aimeos E-Commerce Bundle 2016.04 for Symfony 2 and 3
The Aimeos community released version 2016.04 of their Open Source e-commerce components for the Symfony PHP framework.
Germany, April 14, 2016 (Newswire.com) - After three month of beta phase, it's the first stable version of the 2016 series for Symfony. Major improvements are the secure product downloads and the native support for net prices.
A new message queue infrastructure has been added to improve scalability. Resource intensive tasks like sending e-mails can be postponed and offloaded now. An extension offering adapters to message queue servers using the Advanced Message Queue Protocol like RabbitMQ, Apache ActiveMQ and others as well as the Beanstalk and Stomp protocols is available. Moreover, a low resource Gettext implementation is now used by the Aimeos Symfony bundle, saving memory in high load environments.
Improvements for editors in the simplified administration interface are also part of this release. They can now manage product attributes and properties as well as promotional products, so there's no need to switch to the expert mode for this any more.
There's no need for customers to login during checkout any more to see their new order in their history afterwards. Based on their e-mail address, the orders are associated to their account. Also, customer groups associated to each new user automatically can be configured by shop owners.
Product information is now tagged with micro format data based on schema.org in the front-end. Search engines like Google are able to understand this machine readable products and show more information in the search result page about these products.
