AISECT's National Convention of Skill Development Centres Held in Bhopal

India's leading skill development and training network, AISECT organized a National Convention of AISECT Skill Development Centres in Bhopal

India's leading skill development and training network, AISECT organized a National Convention of AISECT Skill Development Centres in Bhopal. This convention was held in partnership with the Government of India initiative, the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and witnessed participation from over 500 entrepreneurs who are running AISECT Skill Development Centres across ten major states of the country. A newsletter by AISECT highlighting the success of recently held AISECT-NSDC Employment Fairs or "Rojgar Melas" was also released by the dignitaries on this occasion.

Mr. Ashwani Sharma, who is the Managing Director of National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), was the Chief Guest for the National Convention. The occasion was also graced by eminent personalities such as Mr. Jaikant Singh, Head-Monitoring, NSDC; Mr. Kishore Balaji, Head - Digital Inclusion-South Asia & Head Strategic Alliance, Corporate Affairs - South Asia, INTEL; and Mr. Santosh Choubey, Chairman, AISECT.

AISECT, which has so far transformed the lives of over 13 lakh students through a host of skill enhancement programs, has recently partnered with NSDC with an aim to skill an additional 13 lakh youth within the next 10 years. Since the rural entrepreneurs within the AISECT network are responsible for taking the organization's initiatives to the grass root level, it is imperative to continuously update and train them so that all the centre owners are synergized for better efficiencies and better results. This convention was a step towards achieving that synergy.

According to AISECT's Director Mr. Siddharth Chaturvedi, "NSDC has a mission of providing skills-based training to over 150 million people by 2020. This is a herculean target which can be achieved only when the entire vocational and skills training sector joins hands with NSDC and lends them support in every possible manner. As an organization which has been rigorously working since the last 28 years towards empowering semi-urban and rural India through skills and ICT based training & services, AISECT is keen to extend all possible help to NSDC for reaching their goal successfully. Initiatives such as this Convention and the various AISECT-NSDC Rojgar Melas that we had recently organized in all the NSDC states are being taken by us to reach out to the diverse set of target audience and generate awareness about the endeavors being taken by the public and private sector for the empowerment of the rural youth of our nation."

Awards for excellent performance in the field of skill development and employment generation were also given away to select AISECT Skill Development Centers by the Guests on the occasion of this Convention.
