Albion To Launch Albion West Coast, After Winning Air New Zealand, North America

Albion has launched a North American office in Los Angeles, after existing European client Air New Zealand appointed the digitally led creative agency to handle its £10 million account in North America and Canada.

The agency won the business from US incumbent 72 and Sunny, and marks the first global expansion for the Silicon Roundabout-based London agency, who have their sights set on Silicon Valley after earning a reputation for working with entrepreneurs and technology start-ups in the UK and Europe.

Jason Goodman, Founder & CEO of Albion said:

"We're extremely excited to be working with Air New Zealand in North America and to have been given the chance to kick off Albion in a place where we can learn so much from the best entrepreneurs in technology and entertainment," said Jason Goodman, Founder & CEO of Albion. "We also are excited to share our own unique creative approach and global perspective with this market."

Albion has been Air New Zealand's agency of record in Europe for 3 years, having completely repositioned the brand with a series of high profile brand campaigns all building on the agency's creative platform of 'Is it just a Kiwi Thing'. The award winning campaigns have focussed on the Airline's unique Kiwi attitude and have featured innovated digital executions as part of broader integrated campaigns.

"Albion understands Air New Zealand's unique Kiwi culture and desire to be innovative and creative," said Kathryn Gregory, Air New Zealand's marketing director - Americas. "We look forward to building our relationship with Albion West Coast and anticipate an exciting campaign for our new 777-300."

Albion's first task is to launch the airline's new 777-300ER aircraft. Air New Zealand is the first airline to turn economy class into "cuddle class" with the innovative Economy Skycouch, available on the new 777-300ER aircraft. The Skycouch is a trio of economy seats that together create a flexible space - a place to relax and stretch out or for the kids to play. From eating dinner to snuggling, the Skycouch has the flexibility to adapt to whatever your heart desires in flight. The new aircraft is available for booking on flights from Los Angeles to Auckland starting in April 2011.

Albion has opened an initial office in Los Angeles close to Air New Zealand headquarters, and recruitment for the West Coast team is in motion.
