Albion to work with British Basketball on Olympic 2012 project

London, 30 June 2010: Albion the digitally-led creative agency will partner with British Basketball and leading basketball website Hoopsfix.com in a project to raise support for Team GB in the build up to this summer's Eurobasket Qualifying games.

The campaign will be driven by Sam Neter, editor of Hoopsfix.com, and will feature an online blog, a short mocumentary, some experiential marketing, merchandise and advertising which will all be seeded out across social media sites including, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Albion will use its expertise in digital campaigns to offer strategic advice and creative assistance to support the campaign.

Jason Goodman, CEO, Albion: 'The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) is one of the few governing bodies that does not give an automatic place to the host nation team at the Olympics so Team GB need all the support they can get at the qualifying games this summer. We've teamed up with British Basketball and Sam to see if we can help get the country behind the team. In both of these we know that we've found a group of people who share our game changing ethos and decided to get involved."

The British basketball team (Team GB) was formed in 2005 when the home nations' respective governing bodies England Basketball, Basketball Scotland and Basketball Wales joined forces to field a competitive team for international competition after London secured the 2012 Olympics. The current team features three NBA players including Ben Gordon from the Detroit Pistons, raising the chances of success this summer.
